What do I do?

What does an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher do? I wear many hats in my role as an ITRT, but the most influential one is collaborating with teachers and discovering creative, powerful, engaging ways to integrate technology with student curriculum. Posts on this blog focus on projects I am working on as an ITRT with my teaching staff and digital resources I find for classroom use.

About Me

Lynel: I have been teaching in the state of Virginia for eleven years. I earned my bachelors degree in Elementary Education (1999) and have attained my master's degree in Education, focus Instructional Technology (2005). I began my teaching career as a fifth grade elementary school classroom teacher. After 4 years, I transferred to a middle school teaching sixth grade Language Arts and Science, as well as taking on the role as coach for the 7th and 8th grade girls’ volleyball teams. In the fall of 2006 I started in my current position as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher, where I “coach” teachers on ways to effectively integrate technology seamlessly in their content. I love teaching and enjoy working with students and staff. I also have a deep appreciation for the ever-changing role technology plays in education.
